 ABOUT US

We are a local family business run by Tetsu, a Japanese woodworker with a passion for traditional Japanese woodworking tools, knives, antiques and collectables.

Tetsu moved to Australia in 1994 and worked as a cabinet maker, where his interest in hand tools began. He started collecting woodworking tools over 10 years ago and now imports them, along with various other Japanese items and antiques, and sells them from his shop in Ocean Grove.

He restores and sharpens the knives and tools that are brought over and also provides a knife sharpening service.

Tetsu is shortened from his name, Tetsuro. Tetsu also means iron in Japanese, which inspired the logo to be the kanji for iron.
